Haiti Update: August 27, 2021 - Final Update

Thursday was a very rainy day. The team held a clinic at YWAM and saw about 130 patients. Earthquake-related injuries and non-earthquake-related issues were treated. One team member ministered to a man who prayed to receive Christ but was also delivered of alcoholism. Another member of the team saw a 10-month-old baby who had abscesses on her buttocks that needed a procedure and antibiotics. “There were multiple salvations.”

The team began today with each member having the Covid testing necessary for the trip home and, thankfully, everyone had a negative test. A half-day of clinic was done at the YWAM facility where one team member had the opportunity to minister to a Voodoo Priest who finally said he wanted to accept Jesus, but would only do so if “you give me clothes so I can go to church.” YWAM staff advised that he only wanted free clothing. Although he went on his way without new clothes, he heard the plan of salvation and about the love of Jesus. PTL. Some sow, some water, and God gets the glory. After clinic, supplies were loaded in the wheelbarrows and the team hiked back across the bridge to the vehicles for the trip back to Les Cayes. Friday night will be spent in Dr. Johnny’s compound.

The team begins flying at about 12:30 EST tomorrow. The first leg is from Les Cayes to Port-au-Prince so that they can check out of Haiti before flying to Ft. Pierce where they will spend the night at Missionary Flights International. On Sunday Missionary Flights shuttles the team to West Palm Beach Airport where each team member boards flights headed to their homes. What a mighty God. What a special team and what an amazing journey.
