Haiti Update: August 26, 2021

While making their way to Jeremie yesterday, the team was amazed at the power demonstrated by the earthquake. They passed huge boulders that had been shaken from their positions, tossed downhill, and now sit in very precarious places. Some roads were decreased to one lane because of debris or fractures in the roads and the final leg of the trip was indeed on foot. The team was greeted by many, many Haitians waiting with wheelbarrows and each wanted to be hired to help in getting the supplies transported across the bridge. Thank God for willing helpers. The team was also greeted by Jude, the YWAM Director, and transported to the YWAM location. It was afternoon by the time the team was set up and able to begin clinic. 80 people were seen and treated. Although I did not get consensus from the entire team, there were at least 4 people who prayed to receive Jesus. The family of God increases daily!

Jude has provided some valuable information for directing the team’s activity today. Dr. Sherry will begin her day with a visit to the Jeremie Hospital where, according to Jude, there are people still waiting to be seen with injuries they sustained in the earthquake. If that is the case, the team will begin their day offering to see those patients. Jude also believes he can transport the team into more remote areas with YWAM vehicles. The team will follow God’s direction and it will be amazing.

• God will supply safe transportation so the team can reach those who have not received help

• God will mightily utilize the remaining few days of clinic
